A Year in Review: 2024 – The Year of Celebrating Collaboration

2024 has been a year of collaboration, growth, and rewarding musical experiences. One of the milestones was the successful wrap-up of our cooperation with ECMA Pro which ran from September 2020 to August 2024. This pan-European collaboration not only enhanced our educational programme but also allowed Musethica to expand to Paris (France) and Oslo (Norway), and, in 2024, to Italy, where we held two memorable sessions in Fiesole.

This year also marked the successful launch of our project “1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education through Social Inclusion”. As part of the European Union’s Creative Europe Programme, the initiative’s goal is to bring music to marginalised communities across Europe. In its first three months, we’ve already achieved significant outcomes, including 72 concerts reaching 3.893 listeners.

Similarly, for Musethica Germany, 2024 marked the year of extending the collaborations with universities, e.g. with the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin and laying the foundations for cooperation with the music universities in Detmold and Lübeck.

For Musethica Spain, one of the special moments came from a session in the underpopulated municipality of Utrillas in the former mining region and province of Teruel (Aragon). The unique setting, where musicians played in an open garage, attracted local residents who, with coffee in hand, came together to enjoy the music and share in the occasion.

A special shoutout to Musethica Israel, which in 2024 hosted a staggering number of 140 concerts, reaching 5.025 listeners

One experience highlighting the impact of Musethica Sweden this year is a quote of an inmate of the Correctional Facility Skänninge, who could not hold back and exclaimed in between movements of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’ String Quintet no. 2: “What's going on? Why does this music make me feel happy and sad at the same time?”

An Impactful Year: Musethica 2024 In Numbers

Musethica 2024 In NumbersThis year, we hosted 35 Musethica Sessions plus 2 Chamber Music Festivals in 9 countries, providing young musicians with important opportunities to learn and develop their skills.

In total, 131 young musicians participated in our programmes, with the mentorship and guidance of 26 dedicated tutors, bringing high-quality music to a large variety of communities far and wide. Performing in a range of venues, we held 68 Public Concerts throughout the year.

Perhaps one of our most fulfilling achievements in 2024 has been the 404 Concerts in Social Institutions, bringing music to communities and individuals who may not typically have access to live music. Through these concerts, we connected with 22.156 Listeners this year.

Thank you for being part of our journey in 2024!
