XII Musethica International Chamber Music Festival Zaragoza
From March 15th to 22nd, the Musethica International Chamber Music Festival was celebrated in Zaragoza and La Almunia de Doña Godina. In this twelfth edition, Mor Biron (bassoon) and Yamei Yu (violin) served as tutors for six internationally renowned young musicians: Ruby Shirres (viola), Alba Urbano (cello), Tomer Ornan (clarinet), Laura Ferreiro (horn), Nuno Coroado (double bass), and Ángela Aguareles (violoncello).
The festival featured a total of 22 concerts: 18 held in social institutions, 3 open to the public, and a special event at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón (CSMA). These performances were organized in collaboration with a variety of institutions, including the Jean Piaget Special Education School, the Rincón de Goya Special Education School, the Zuera Penitentiary Center, CEIP Nertóbriga, CEIP Florián Rey in La Almunia de Doña Godina, the El Pinar nursery school in Garrapinillos and CEDES Foundation, the Royo Villanova Hospital, the Parroquia del Carmen Day Care Center, the Fogaral de Cáritas Shelter, the Luis Buñuel Center for the Elderly, the Las Fuentes Social and Labor Center, Pedro de Luna High School, the Ozanam La Magdalena Residence and Day Care Center, Rock & Blues Café, Aula Magna del Paraninfo, and Luis Gailve Hall at the Zaragoza Auditorium.
All of these concerts offered an exquisite repertoire featuring works by Ernst von Dohnányi, Carl Maria von Weber, Carl Nielsen, Bernhard Henrik Crusell, and Ludwig van Beethoven.
The final concert at the Auditorio de Zaragoza received very positive reviews from the regional press: “‘An exceptional concert,’” and “One of the best chamber concerts we have witnessed in this Auditorium,” as noted by Heraldo de Aragón (23.03.2025).
This session was part of the project ‘1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education through Social Inclusion’ co-funded by the European Union.
