February 17th, 2025
The “1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education through Social Inclusion” project is pleased to announce the launch of its new website www.1000plusconcerts.eu, designed to provide essential information about the project’s activities and progress. The website will be a central resource for updates on the project’s goals, events, and opportunities for engagement.
About the Project:
Over the next four years, the 1000+ Concerts project will deliver more than 1,000 free concerts, reaching an estimated 40,000 listeners from diverse and often marginalised communities. The project involves collaboration with over 120 social institutions across Europe including hospital wards, correctional facilities, and special-needs schools, creating meaningful audience engagement experiences through live performances and community outreach.
Website Features:
The new website is an essential resource for those interested in following the progress of the project and engaging with its activities. Key features of the site include:
Event calendar: Stay informed about upcoming concerts, Musethica Sessions, and Chamber Music Festivals.
Seminars & symposia: Explore educational activities such as the “Art of Practising” seminars and the “New Audience Symposia,” where innovative approaches to audience engagement will be explored.
News blog: Read the latest updates, event reviews, and reflections on the project’s activities.
Multimedia content: Access concert streams, video recordings, podcasts, and research findings related to the project on the @1000PlusConcerts YouTube channel.
Innovating Classical Higher Music Education:
‘1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education through Social Inclusion’ trains a new generation of musicians to understand themselves as an integral part of society. By providing free concerts, the project redefines how classical music education and performance can contribute to social impact. Implementing the Musethica Programme, the initiative creates opportunities for musicians to engage with new and diverse audiences, ultimately promoting interaction between musicians and communities who might otherwise have limited or no access to classical live music.
