Ten Concerts for Östergötland Communities
Between February 16th and 22nd, a Musethica Session took place in the Östergötland Region of Sweden. The week comprised ten concerts across various social institutions, including prisons, activity centers for people with special needs, retirement homes, and a women's shelter.
The Skazka Quartet from the Netherlands participated as young musicians, and the session was tutored by Johannes Meissl, a professor at mdw in Vienna and one of the world’s leading experts on string quartets. The repertoire performed included Benjamin Britten's Three Divertimenti for String Quartet and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s String Quartet No. 15 in D minor.
In addition to these performances, three public concerts were held throughout the week: one at the cultural center Agora in Linköping, another at the Broadway Café in a bar setting, and the final one at the second-hand shop Ge För Livet in Norrköping.
All concerts were free of charge. A highlight of the week was the seminar, "The Art of Practicing," led by Professor Johannes Meissl.
