Stephan Picard was born in 1960 in Barcelona. He won the seinem Konzertexamen den Deutschen Musikwettbewerb and the international music competition “Maria Canals” after his concert examination. He studied as a young student in Essen with Prof. Saschko Gawriloff and then Prof. Roman Nodel in Mannheim.
The participation of the Federal Selection “Concerts of young artists” marked the beginning of his concert career as a soloist and chamber musician. He has appeared at major international festivals in Europe, the United States and Asia, and in concert halls such as Berliner Philharmonie, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall, London. Stephan Picard is active and highly sought after lecturer on international master classes as Professor of violin at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin.
