Edi was part of the David Goldman Program for Outstanding Young Musician and Jerusalem Music Center Programs.

Edi Kotlyar, born in Israel in 1996, began studying the violin at age 7 with Prof. Lev Mirchin, and currently studying with Elena Mazor at The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel-Aviv University. In April 2015 won the First prize in the strings competition of Buchmann-Mehta school of music, Tel-Aviv University. In March 2013 won the first prize in National Competition in memory of Eran Zoldan in Raanana. In April 2010 won the first prize in young violinists National Competition “Tel-aviv 2010”. In May 2009 won the first prize in young musicians competition in memory of Mordecai Turgeman. He played as soloist with “Ha’sharon” orchestra, and with the “Kamerans” orchestra . He performs as violinist in many ensembles and chamber music in many different Entities. Edi was part of the David Goldman Program for Outstanding Young Musician and Jerusalem Music Center Programs.

Also he is one of the Leading of the Young Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2014 participate in the International program for string players “Perlman Music Program” Edi has taken part in masterclasses by Itzhak Perlman, Ivry Gitlis, Mauricio Fuks, Stephan Picard, Itzhak Rashkovsky, Pavel Vernikov, Edward Grach, Miriam Fried, Ani Schnarch, Patinka Kopec , Vadim Gluzman and Boris Kuschnir. He Participated in the Eilat Cahmber Music Festival (2009, 2010). He is a recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarship and is an Alumnus of the Keshet Eilon Mastercourse. He plays on “N.Vuillaume”, violin loan from America-Israel Cultural Foundation (AICF).
