Kati Raitinen
Alongside her position as solo cellist with the Royal Swedish Opera orchestra, Kati Raitinen is a committed chamber musician both at home in Sweden and abroad. She has also made a number of CD recordings.
As a member of the ZillacusPerssonRaitinen string trio she has won three Swedish Grammy awards. For the past fifteen years the trio has been running the chamber music series “Monday at last!” at the Stockholm Concert Hall and is the recipient of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music’s Interpretpris, awarded for excellence in the field of chamber music.
Kati has made a number of recordings for radio and television, the most recent being the world premiere of Amanda Maier’s piano trio.
Since 2020 she has been a part-time cello teacher and chamber music coach at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
Kati Raitinen studied with Professor Martti Rousi in Helsinki and Professor Frans Helmerson in Stockholm.
