„The art of Listening“ Co-funded by the European Union
This project intends to shape and expand music lessons at different kind of schools. It is a completely new approach to hold open and interactive master classes in classical chamber music. Selected, advanced musicians who study at the most prestigious music academies and universities of Europe will receive a public lesson by a tutor in front of small groups of children who will be active participants in the lesson. Children will contribute to these master classes, bringing their perception of music into the lessons.
The main activities of this project will take place in Berlin in partnership with a psychiatric clinic for children (DRK Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie), a school for children with special needs (Helene-Haeusler-Schule) and an institute for children who have difficulties fitting into the regular school system (Grundschulprojekt Bethanien).
Additionally, master classes will be held in similar institutions for children in two of Musethica’s partner countries: A school for children with special needs in Zaragoza, Spain and an institution located close to Bourg-en-Bresse, France, which collaborates with the child welfare system hosting children and young people who have experienced social difficulties.
